People are AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL - July 27, 2015

IT IS SO HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the hardest time this week in the heat. 100 degrees outside in like 400% humidity is NOT a good mix! I was on the point of passing out every hour of everyday! But, I made it through it! I have been drinking around 10 water bottles a day :) The heat had lead to some miracles though! Since it is so hot, people are more willing to let us into their houses so that we can get out of the heat. We were able to have some spur the moments lessons with a few people which are always my favorite :)

So, we have some investigators!!!!

Two of them we just picked up literally 20 minutes ago. M. had taken the lessons before and we decided to drop by and see how she was doing. She invited us back and when we got there today, her sister in law was there, O! Not going to lie, I was SUPER nervous! O. is very Catholic and didn't really want to talk with us. When I read a scripture from the bible, she immediately ran to her room to get her bible and to check if what I had read was right. But, as the lesson went on, she began to realize that our churches believe a lot of the same things. She was opening up to us. We ended the lesson by reviewing the restoration and left them both a pamphlet. The promised that they would read and pray about it all with real intent! IT WAS AN AWESOME LESSON! There is nothing better than feeling lead and guided by the spirit! I love knowing that we have so much in common with other people. We believe so much of the same things and doctrine! I am also so grateful for the restoration as well! There are so many amazingly wonderful people in the world, and the gospel will just add to their already amazingly wonderful beliefs with even more amazing wonderful news about a prophet being on the earth today and amazingly wonderful scripture!

K. is our other investigator! She is 17 years old, pregnant, and has gone through some VERY hard times! She opened right up to us and told us everything. We had a super good lesson and were able to get super close. She said that her and her boyfriend and trying to find a church that they both would like to start attending. They were both raised in different churches and are trying to find a happy medium. She is awesome!!!!! There are a few obstacles, but K. is awesome and good things are happening :)

This continues to happen to me, but this week I got down on myself... again! We talked with a TON of people in the streets this week. It is hard because everyone has come here from their countries to work and help their families. This means that they don't have any time to meet with us. I was starting to feel like a bad missionary, wishing I could do more to help. When I have felt like this before, I normally find an answer through reading the scriptures or from an email that you sent to me, Mom. This week was different. This week my answer was given to me by a preacher of 17 years from Kenya, named N. Last night we were walking around and we met N. She actually is the one that stopped us and starting talking to us about church. She asked us awesome questions like, "If you could get one message across to the people that you see, what would it be?" She was a preacher in her country for 17 years! She started to talk to us about everything that she had learned during that time. She then told us exactly what I needed to hear in that moment. She talked about the grace of God. She told us that if we love Him, if we are serving Him, that is sufficient. We need to be trying and doing the best we can, obviously. But, GOD LOVES US NO MATTER WHAT! She said it a lot more eloquently than that, but I am not as good with words. N. was a great reminder for me and taught me again, and helped me to feel the love of God. We talk so much about missionaries being placed into people’s lives and God leading them to people. But, I know that God is also leading people into my life as a missionary and helping me out! Another crazy thing, we get to the library and who is here using the computers... N!!! She wants us to come by and meet her daughters :)

I get to go to the temple this Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOOO EXCITED!!!!

Love you!
