Feliz Dia de Independencia - July 6, 2015

BUENAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a week I done did have! It felt like it flew by, but as I look back and think about what we did, if feels like forever ago!

This week we were street contacting and we met this man that was from the middle east. I can’t remember the exact country though. He grew up Muslim, moved to England when he was a teenager and became a Christian. Now, he is not even sure if there is a God. He is definitely the smartest man that I have ever met. Holy Cow I was just blow away by the words he was using. He brought up things that I had never even thought of before. He told us every reason why the Bible was not true, why Christ couldn't be real. It really was insane, and to be honest, everything that he was saying made perfect sense. Yet, this whole experience just strengthened my testimony! I could feel the spirit SO strong! I could see that this man was not happy, and I could feel how happy I was. He was telling us not to go so far with our religion and to become so committed that we cannot get out. But, the more I thought about it, he is the one who is trapped and cant get out. This man had ZERO faith! He was trapped by his own worries and doubts and had dug to far to get out. It was a super sad experience. I just wish that I could have helped him. I wish that people would just chose to be happy! It really is just a choice! Yesterday we street contacted this man from El Salvador and he told us that he knows church is good. He told us that he knows it would bless his life, that he would be happier. But, he straight up said that he did not want it. WHAT!? I want others to be happy! Why don't they want to be happy!?

We had a super duper cool lesson with our investigator T! She is sooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet! We were in the lesson teaching about the Book Of Mormon when she told us about a dream that she had, had. She was surrounded by people and they were all screaming "Dios viene!" and were running around. She looked into the sky and saw giant tires, as big as houses, falling to the earth. These tires started landed on groups of people and killing them. She knew that the wicked were being killed and that she was going to be destroyed as well. She immediately started praying and asking God to forgive her. After telling us that dream she asked us about baptism. We told her not to ignore her dream, that God was talking to her and warning her. She is nervous to be baptized because of the responsibility and because of her husband. But, she knows that it is what she needs to do. IT WAS SUCH A GOOD LESSON. The only bummer is that she didn't come to church.

The fourth of July was super fun! We spent all of Saturday doing service and setting up for this party that they have every year here is Frederick. Saturday rolls around and for the entire 3 hours of the party, it was pouring rain! But, we still had some super good food and enjoyed ourselves. The people who had come parked their cars in a field. So, after 3 hours of nonstop rain, the cars were stuck in the mud. All the elders went in their white shirts and ties and pushed all the cars out. It was quite the site! I will send you pictures. The rest of the day we spent at a birthday party watching fireworks in a park!

I hope that you all had a happy fourth of July as well!!! Here are a few more pictures of goodbyes from Annapolis :)

Les Quiero!!!!!!!!

-Lou :)
