WHAT A WEEK DID I HAVE!!!!!!! ONE OF MY FAVORITES IN THE MISSION!!!!
Ok, saying goodbye to the people in Baltimore was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Not going to lie, I cried... a lot! Saying goodbye to the S.’s was so hard for me! This family means the world to me and it hurt! Also, saying bye to M. about pushed me over the edge. Her husband had kicked her out of the house the night before and she had nowhere to go with the kids. The only place that she could think of was to go to her new house, which she is not suppose to be in yet because it has to be fixed up. But, she had nowhere else to go, so she was kinda squating in that house when I left. When I walked in I just wanted to cry. I looked at M. and she started to do a puppy dog face at me and then she started to cry. So we hugged a lot and we cried a lot. It was hard leaving her like that... I wish I could have helped her out more before I left.
ANNAPOLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! It is BEAUTIFUL HERE!!!! We drive over so many bridges, there are boats and the bay is just amazing!!!! The sun is out! I am SO HAPPY!!! Hermana Tinti is the BEST! We are basically the exact same person! haha! We are having so much fun together and have had a week PACK FULL of miracles! Miracle after miracle after miracle it seems :)
OK!
This week we went hard on street contacting! We only have one investigator and we are determined to find more! But, we made sure that we had solid street contacts! None of that "Do you want a card from our church" stuff. We made sure that with every person we talked to we left a distinctive message, that we talked about the Restoration and that we testified! Boy oh boy did it work!!! We got lots of return appointments! We handed out a Book of Mormon! Hermana Tinti invited somebody to be baptized in our street contact.. and he didn’t say no! jajaja!
Here are some of the craziest miracles that we have seen...
S! We went to visit a member but she wasn’t home. We tried some referrals... weren’t home either. But, we smelled the sweet aroma of carne asada and followed it! We ended up at birthday party bbq of the members neighbors house! We got talking to them and they invited us in to eat! We had met these people about 5 minutes before this! We of course said yes and we ate some good old food and celebrate the birthday! What was extra crazy was that S. had visited our church 5 years earlier! #POTENTIAL
R!!! We were outside walking and started talking to this little kid R jr! We gave him a flower that we had picked and he told us he wanted us to meet his mom. She let us right in! We had a really good visit. R. is super catholic... but told us some of her neighbors that we can visit. R. jr now runs and gives us a hug every time we are in the neighborhood.
M!!!!!!! This was probably one of my favorite experiences of the mission! Yesterday we were out walking and we saw this lady with the prettiest dress on! Hermana Tinti said "Lets go tell her we like her dress". So we walked over to her and we complimented her dress. Turns out, M didn’t speak any english. She is from Bangledash and is Muslim! SAY WHAT!? We we’re somehow able to communicate through the few english words that she knew and a lot of acting things out. M then invited us over to her house! She took out her photo albums and was showing us pictures from her country. She showed us her wedding photos! She had a four story house and servants! She went to the kitchen and just started to cook us up a meal from Bangledash! It was super good! #spicy Then she took us into her bedroom and she tried on her other dresses for us and showed us how she gets ready! THEN, she invited us to go to Bangledash with her in a year and told me I could borrow one of her dresses! It was so beautiful and by far the coolest experience of my mission!
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST BEST BEST BEST!!!
