My Week - March 30, 2015

I am warning yall... this email is probably going to be all over the place!

We had a good week! I am just going to look through my planner as I write and give ya a few little updates…

Monday: We spent our entire preparation day driving around trying to find a body shop to take our car to. WE had to get 2 estimates done, which the insurance company didn’t even up accepting. We have to take our car in tomorrow for repairs, which means we are going to be car-less the entire week! #baltimorebusses

Tuesday: I went on exchanges and got sent to the english area! Oh boy did I miss my spanish! I got asked to say the prayer at dinner and it sounded like I had never said a prayer in my entire life! We visited a bunch of old women with lots of cats. I had a lot of fun with my sister training leader (she played volleyball with Jessie). But, other than that, I missed my tortillas and my branch!

Wednesday: We had a really tough lesson with L. We stopped by for our appointment and there were 2 other men that live in their house that decided to sit in on the lesson. We taught the Restoracion and one of the guys was not interested in the lesson at all. He was only there to try and make us look dumb. He asked us questions like "What is the 4th commandment?" "What does Matthew 24:33 say?" "What signs of the second coming have been fulfilled? When is the second coming of Christ?" etc. etc. HE didnt listen to a single word that we said, changed the topic, was just trying to bible bash us. I just wanted to get OUT! It got Hermana Cardona pretty upset.

Thursday: We have been visiting this girl name G and teaching her english. She is 20 years old and has the cutest little baby! She lives super far away from everyone and there are no other members in the area that can take her to church. But, a very active family from the Columbia branch just moved 2 minutes away from her, and this week we went to visit them. They still have callings in the Columbia branch, but, they are going to start to bring her when they come to our branch! THIS IS A BIG DEAL FAMILY! We bring her up at basically every single correlation meeting with our ward mission leader. He told us to basically give up on her because nobody will ever be willing to go and help her out. I am praying this will help :)

Friday: I am sure I told you all about our investigator named A last week. She is our investigator whose daughter served a mission. Last week she was super sad and depressed when we met her. She was so sad that her daughter cant come to the US and it has been 10 years since she has seen her. This week, she was as happy as can be. Her daughter’s situation has not changed, but she was so happy and excited to see us. She LOVED the message of the restoration and couldnt get enough of it. The message that we share brings HOPE, PEACE and HAPPINESS! IT is the greatest gift in the world to be able to see it change people!

Saturday: WOMENS CONFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How awesome was that!? I loved the focus on the family! It made me think of yall. IT made me so so so happy to think that you guys, Hannah and Mom, were watching it at the same time as me. We are on opposite sides of the country, but I felt so so so close to you as I watch it!

Sunday: I got a little down. Church was hard for me. This branch really struggles! I feel at a loss as to what I should do, or what I can do to help! So many things are happening, and I don’t know what to do to help. IT was really getting to me. But, just like the new easter video that came out says, Christ is ALWAYS here! He knows what is happening in the alameda, He knows how I feel, He is always there, during the good and the bad. I am SO EXCITED FOR GENERAL CONFERENCE, to be able to listen to the testimonies of the apostles and prophets during this Easter season!

WE ate dinner at the Trimbles and it was SUPER GOOD! WE roasted smores after dinner and I still smell like campfire. Not gonna lie, roasting those smores made me a little homesick! I was thinking of sitting outside gma and gpas, roasting our marshmallows and having the time of our lives! I love you guys and miss you... a whole bunch!

This coming week is transfers! PRAY YOUR HEARTS OUT THAT I STAY HERE IN BALTIMORE!!!! LO HARAN!?!?

LOVE YOU!!!!

Sorry - no pictures - next week, I promise!!
