I am Tight with the National Guard - February 23, 2015

FAM FAM FAM FAM FAM FAM FAM FAM!!!! HOW ART THOU!?

I know that we just emailed on Thursday, but I got some good stories and experiences to share with y’all :)

First, I will fill you all in as to what is happening at transfers! So, I am staying here in BAMO!!! Whoooooo Hoooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Hermana Orton in heading to Colombia! Elder Cope is heading home. Elder Riddle is going as well as Elder Burrup! I am the only one staying in my entire district :( But that is alright! Hermana Cardona and I are going to be companions again! She is coming here to Baltimore!!!! I am super excited, and a little nervous! Hagerstown just got closed for Hermanas :( I am so so so so so sad. Hard to hear fo sho!

So, this week was a week full of service! One of our members is getting evicted from her house today. We went over this week to visit and she was packing everything up. We started to help her out and asked her where her new house is. She told us that she couldn't find one but that it is ok because she will just hop around from house to house with her 2 kids and 4 dogs. We got a little mad at her! It is 4 degrees outside, her kids are so skinny you could snap them in half and her plan was just to go out and live on the streets until her taxes come. We sat her down and told her that she needed to call the branch president. She finally agreed and I think it is all going to work out. We went over for the next few days, helped her pack up, let her cry it all out. Keep her in your prayers!

There was a HUGE snow storm here. It was BIG and BAD! Our cars got grounded and we had no way to get to any of our appointments because the buses weren't even running. So, we headed to 5 Guys and ate a little somethin somethin. Outside of 5 Guys there was a GIANT traffic jam! Super duper bad! So, we finished eating and we headed out to the street. There was this hill that everybody was getting stuck on and nobody could make it up! So, Hermana Orton and I got to work and we started to push all of the cars up the hill! I was wearing my Elder Mangum name tag and it must have blessed me with manly strength because we did that for about 4 hours! A few men pulled their cars over and started to help us out as well. Here is the crazy part, the National Guard showed up!!!! I ain’t jokin!!! All of these men in Army atire came truckin over to us and they got to work! They came over and told us "Thank you for your service!" WHAT!? Pretty dang cool huh??? After they showed up though we weren't much help anymore! haha!!!

Last night we had the most amazing lesson with our new investigator! He is the son of a member. We went over the Restoration and it was something else!!! Everything clicked. It all made sense and he accepted our invitation to, and committed himself to be baptized!!! haha! He doesn't have a date yet, but he is on board!!! When you really think about it all; the apostasy, prophets, the priesthood, the restoration, Jose Smith, there is no way, absolutely NO WAY that it cannot be true! All of the puzzle pieces fit together! Nothing is missing! This is why it all clicks when we teach it to others, because it is perfect... Absolutely Perfect!!!! Such a great privilege to teach it :) Well ...

Love you more!!!
Have a great week!

Love, Lennon
